Sure, everyone likes discounts, but...

We understand that public media fans tend to factor more than price into the total value of what they buy.  The overall experience, environmental impact and small-town service, among other reasons, influence their choices of where they go.

Publink evolved from the desire to enrich public media member benefit programs; to extend their significance beyond “a discount card” and utilize their multidimensional value to engage a station’s community of supporters.

In the summer of 2009, Enginuity Workshop (a division of Market Enginuity) designed a model program, testing this idea at three stations.  The program overhaul ensured that the benefits reflect local character and interests of the public media community.  It gave businesses tiered levels of participation.  Options for members to access benefits were expanded to a searchable web directory and geo-targeted mobile apps.  The pilot programs proved that Publink can support membership while providing new revenue streams for stations and marketing value for participating businesses and organizations.

Today's Publink invites more interaction and flexibility.

Listeners can discover a new specialty shop or pop in the closest one based on their location.  Relying on the "Likes" of fellow public media fans they can locate the crowd-pleasing restaurants downtown.  They can suggest their own favorite.  And they can still get a great deal on everything from theater tickets to pet products.

Businesses and organizations can track their offers, share on facebook and twitter and change them in real-time.

Publink offers its affiliate stations the platform, technology and tools to ultimately customize their own program.  Contact us for more information about how to use Publink at your station.
